A series of vinyl window murals installed at Metro Vancouver Regional Parks' Central Area offices (9146 Avalon ave, Burnaby).
Bird-window collisions are a leading cause of avian fatalities across Canada, accounting for as many as 25 millions deaths annually. These are intended to prevent future bird-window strikes on site, "breaking up" the reflection of the nearby trees and serving as a visual barrier to avian passerby. These window decals, showcasing Burnaby-local birds and flora, includes a group of Wood Ducks, Cedar Waxwings, a Marsh Wren, and Downy Woodpecker joined alongside Skunk Cabbage, Licorice Fern, Pacific Dogwood, and Wapato among other neighbours. |
